Context

Breathedge 2 launched on Steam Early Access on August 31, 2026. Within 24 hours, RedRuins had identified and begun fixing issues reported by the community. Hotfix 0.8.5 addressed physics oddities, door interactions, quest blockers, and control issues from Chapter 1.

Gravity and Physics

Training dummy gravity fix. The yellow training dummy no longer keeps falling in space after being carried out of a gravity zone. Gravity now switches off correctly when you leave the gravity area.

Item clip on death. The Man’s items no longer fall through his model when he dies inside a gravity zone. This was a visual bug that made recovering loot difficult after death.

Doors

Carried objects no longer block doors. Single and double doors now react to carried physics objects — anime figurines, mattresses, and similar items no longer get stuck in doorways.

Train door range increased. The activation range of the train doors was increased. They now start opening earlier, giving you more time to pass through without triggering the open-close cycle.

Wrench icon removed from double doors. The incorrect wrench icon on double doors was replaced with the correct interaction prompt.

Quests

Clay statue piece locking. Clay balls can no longer get stuck inside already-installed parts of the clay statue. Once a part is placed in a slot, that slot is locked for further pieces. If you already have stuck pieces, look for them approximately 1 meter above their intended position — existing save files were protected with an extra check.

Zarya shuttle antenna repair. The character no longer gets stuck during the antenna repair quest.

Speaker repair quest. Markers now work correctly. The speaker is highlighted on the HUD when you look at it during the repair stage. The marker was moved to the oxygen terminal instead of the station hatch.

Controls

Train lamp camera fix. Fixed controls getting stuck when clicking the train lamp from a certain angle. The camera is no longer locked to horizontal rotation only.

Known Issues

AZERTY keyboard layouts are still being investigated. A fix is planned for an upcoming update. Players using AZERTY keyboards should monitor official channels for updates.
