Breathedge 2 Collectibles

Posters, helmets, trophies, and the junk the Man cannot resist picking up.

Collectibles

The Breathedge series has always loved optional junk. The sequel adds trophy hunting to Steam’s feature list alongside looting, crafting, questing, and dying of oxygen. This page covers what you can actually collect in the Early Access chapter, how the system works, and what to leave behind.

If you want the full trophy list, open the Steam overlay and screenshot the locked achievements. This page is the strategy layer.

What counts as a collectible in Early Access

The 2025 demo treated posters as a running joke: RedRuins claimed an absurd total, then admitted the math was wrong. Treat every poster, helmet, and named junk item as a potential collectible — and as a potential hat, depending on what the Encyclopedia says.

The studio also ran a community contest to design real helmets and said they wanted those creations in the game as collectibles or cosmetics. Some of those ended up as posters; some may have become actual equippable items. Check the Encyclopedia when you find something unusual.

Categories that exist at launch:

Posters. Demo meme and real collectible. They stack. They weigh kilograms. The survival page already told you to dump them. This page is where you decide whether a trophy run is worth the carry weight tax.

Helmets. Community creations, joke cones, and possibly functional headwear depending on the Encyclopedia entry. If the Encyclopedia lists a seal rating, it is a tank. If it lists flavor text, it is a hat. See spacesuit.

Named junk. Some objects are unique — a specific item on a specific wreck that flags the Encyclopedia and possibly an achievement. The demo had named wrecks like Chuck’s Taxi precisely because unique landmarks are where rare resources and collectibles hide. Walkthrough.

Encyclopedia flags. Opening an object, reading a manual, or inspecting a corpse can flag the Encyclopedia even if you do not pick up the item. Some collectible runs are about reading, not hoarding.

How to hunt without ruining your run

The practical collectible loop for the first chapter:

  1. Play the story first. Optional events and one-of-a-kind treasures are easier when you can still find the shuttle.
  2. Open the Encyclopedia when a popup fires. Many “missable” feelings in the first game were just unread schemes.
  3. Keep carry weight honest. Achievement junk is still kilograms.
  4. Screenshot the achievements overlay as your checklist. That is the live table.
  5. Do not empty a tank chasing a skybox collectible. If you cannot interact with a planet, it is a postcard.
  6. Save before a joke interaction. The original game rewarded repeating a stupid action. The sequel’s writing has not gotten less kindergarten.

What is not in the first drop

Base building, personal spacecraft, warp, and planetary surfaces are later. Any collectible associated with those systems is also later. The 1.0 list will be longer. This page will be updated when major patches add new categories.

Practical session plan for a trophy run

  1. Finish the local jobs without backtracking for posters.
  2. Open the achievements overlay and screenshot the locked list.
  3. Sweep wrecks you already know for encyclopedia flags.
  4. Craft the missing module if a trophy names a tool.
  5. Stop when oxygen is a third. Achievements do not revive you.

The Chicken is immortal. You are not. Collect the junk. Keep the Chicken.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Does Breathedge 2 have collectibles at Early Access launch?

Yes. Steam lists achievements and the studio confirmed collectible hunting is part of the loop. Treat the overlay as the live list.

Should I collect every poster?

No. They weigh kilograms and the demo joke count was wrong. Keep a few if a scheme wants them. Do not fill a backpack with posters.

Are community helmet designs in the game?

The studio ran a contest and said they wanted entries in as collectibles or cosmetics. Check the Encyclopedia when you find something unusual.

Can I finish all collectibles on day one?

Early Access only ships the first chapter. Later collectibles will arrive with later sections. Screenshot the overlay as your checklist.
