The 1.0 toys: planets, vehicles, warp jumps, building, and more story.

Roadmap

RedRuins published a roadmap graphic on the Steam page and a prose list in the Early Access FAQ. This page is the prose, dated to August 2026, so you can tell a day-one system from a later chapter. It will be wrong the moment they reshuffle — they said the exact scope and order may change with feedback — but it will not be fan fiction.

For what you can play on 31 August, stay on Early Access. For how zones work now, stay on the map.

Stated 1.0 differences

During Early Access they plan to expand through major updates, not a drip of crates. Current plans include:

  • Continuing the main story past the opening chapter.
  • New areas to explore, including gameplay on a planetary surface.
  • Additional characters and quests.
  • Further development of survival and exploration mechanics.
  • More items, equipment, and ways to interact with the world.
  • Transportation: small flying and ground vehicles, a personal spacecraft, and a warp-jump system.
  • Building.

That list is the difference between the Man-in-open-space fantasy and the “command a ship, land, build, jump” fantasy. Steam screenshots already show both: orange gloves in junk, and a dual-engine craft burning past a blue planet. Only one of those is guaranteed in your first week.

How content is supposed to arrive

June 2026: new content arrives as large new sections of the game, rather than by constantly reworking what is already there. The opening should remain the opening. That is why this wiki’s walkthrough can exist without being shredded every Tuesday.

They also spent 2025 ripping up a demo-era identity. A demo existed, then they said they rebuilt after players drowned in gizmos and the team asked “what is Breathedge?” The answer they printed: a story-driven survival adventure with a comedic tone, focused on survival, exploration, and crafting, with DIY modules. If a future update tries to turn the game into a hardcore mill-sim or a pure action title, that would be a second identity crisis. The review is watching for that.

Canyons and other named places

Canyons was a 2025 re-reveal with its own teaser. Treat named locations as candidates for those large new sections. Do not schedule your week around a teaser coordinate. When a section ships, it should be a place with rules and resources, not a skybox. Systems.

Crew, building, transport — the player-facing order of curiosity

Players will ask, in this order:

  1. Can I land on the planet? Later.
  2. Can I build a base? Later.
  3. Can I fly my own ship between stars? Later.
  4. Can I keep the Chicken alive and DIY a jackhammer today? That is the opening. Crafting, crew.

If the community polls they mentioned start leaning toward quality-of-life (FOV, hold-to-interact, better markers), that can land without a new planet. Check updates after each major patch.

Platforms after PC

The first Breathedge went to consoles. The studio has said they want all major platforms again. Desire is not a date. Steam is the EA home. Steam Deck is Verified. A PS5 2027 window has been listed by third-party calendars. Xbox/Switch have history in the franchise but no EA store row here. Links for official posts when a port is real.

How we will update this page

When Steam news names a chapter, this page will name it. Until then, the roadmap is a list of categories, not a calendar. Anyone posting “building confirmed for October” without a RedRuins or HypeTrain post is guessing. Guessing is how wikis rot.

Play the chapter they shipped. Wishlist the toys. Keep the crowbar. The warp drive can wait until someone prints a date next to it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is there an official month-by-month roadmap?

Steam has a graphic and a prose list of feature categories. The developers said order may change. This page does not invent dates they have not printed.

When does building arrive?

It is listed as part of the full game's difference from Early Access, not as a day-one system. Wait for a major-update news post.

Will I get a spaceship?

A personal spacecraft and warp-jump are on the 1.0 list. A local orange shuttle already appears in screenshots. Those are not the same vehicle.

Do community polls change the story?

Developers said story direction stays with them. Polls are for mechanics, UI, and quality-of-life. See Early Access.
