This page is the dated news desk for Breathedge 2. It is written on 30 August 2026, one day before Steam Early Access. When the store page flips from “coming soon” to live, this is the first page that should change. Until then, every other wiki page still treats the sequel as upcoming.

31 August 2026 — Steam Early Access

Steam app 2412960 still printed Planned Release Date: 31 Aug, 2026 and “this game is not yet available” in the last store check. Unlock timers sat around one day. IGN, Bleeding Cool, Gry-Online, and Game8 all list that same date. Releases.com also lists PlayStation 5 as a 2027 window, not a day-one port.

RedRuins’ July 2026 Steam post is the short confirmation: “Breathedge 2 Early Access Launches August 31!” The longer June post promised a first slice treated like a release for the part you get, with later content arriving as large new sections rather than constant rewrites of the opening.

Price: Game8 still had TBD as of 31 July 2026. Developers said the lowest price is at Early Access start and that the price will rise with major updates, the same pattern as the first game. Do not quote a dollar amount this wiki has not seen on Steam.

Promotional giveaways of Breathedge 1

The original Breathedge (app 738520) has been used as a megaphone for the sequel:

• Steam: RedRuins ran a free-to-keep weekend from 10:00 PT on 7 August 2026 to the same hour on 9 August 2026, and tied the gift to the approaching sequel launch.
• Epic Games Store: Breathedge is claimable as a free game through 3 September 2026, overlapping the sequel’s launch week. After you claim it, it stays on the account.

You do not need the original to play Breathedge 2. The sequel is written to confuse veterans and newcomers equally. The giveaway is extra chicken, extra context, and a cheap way to hear the joke tone before you spend money on Early Access. Getting started.

What still is not in the first drop

Unchanged from the Steam FAQ, and still the most common source of angry refunds if people skip it:

• Story not complete.
• No guaranteed planetary surface gameplay yet.
• Building later.
• Full personal spacecraft and warp later.
• Extra characters and zones later.
• About 16–20 months of Early Access as a current estimate.

Beta signal, not a Metacritic

The Honor Dojo published a 9.2 “Exalted” write-up on 28 August 2026 from about four hours in a beta. The reviewer flagged unfinished systems and refused to treat it as a final exam. Steam still showed no user reviews while the game was coming soon. Treat that 9.2 as one enthusiastic voice, not a score aggregator.

Platforms and languages
