System Requirements

Breathedge 2 is an Unreal Engine 5 first-person survival game. That sentence is doing a lot of work. The Steam table is the source of truth; this page reprints it, then explains what it means for a debris-field game with translucency, large props, and a sense of humor about frame rate.

If you are already installed and stuttering, skip to settings. If you have not bought it yet, stay here. Early Access is 31 August 2026 on Windows Steam.

What those numbers actually mean

12 GB RAM minimum is not a 8 GB laptop. UE5 plus a browser plus Discord will page to disk and then you will blame the GPU. Close the junk.

GTX 1660 6 GB is a 1080p low-medium card in 2026, especially in a wreck full of overlapping transmissive materials (the hero screenshot’s blue gel). Expect to use settings aggressively: cap FPS, cut shadows, cut effects. You can play. You may not want to screenshot it.

RTX 3070 / 6700 XT is the comfort spec for 1080p high or 1440p medium-high, still without pretending this is a path-traced showcase. If the studio enables extra UE5 toys later (Lumen-heavy interiors, denser crowds of junk), the recommended card can become the new “actually fine.” Watch updates.

15 GB is the install listing. Early Access patches that add chapters will grow. Keep headroom.

DirectX 11 is what they printed. Do not assume DX12 features until a patch notes them.

Steam Deck

The store page lists Steam Deck Verified. That is Valve’s badge, not a fan guess. Verified usually means readable defaults, working controls, and acceptable performance in Valve’s test scenes. Debris-field peaks can still tank a handheld. Start with the default profile. Use a 40 FPS cap if you want thermals and battery. Bind interact and extra-hand to back buttons; see controls.

Docked 4K play on a television is a different story. Use the recommended desktop GPU for that, not the Deck.

Laptops, handhelds, other stores

Steam is the EA storefront. There is no Mac or Linux requirements block. Epic had a listing in some databases; treat Steam as the one this wiki tracks. Other handhelds (Ally, Legion Go) will behave like a 1660-class or better APU depending on the model — still use the settings page.

A PS5 2027 window has been listed by third-party calendars. There is no console requirements table to reprint. When a port is real, links will have the official post.

CPU is not optional

Open space with lots of unique props is not only a GPU tax. Physics, debris, and AI Coffinbots will hitch on a dual-core from 2015. The i5-8400 / 2600 floor is already old. If you are under it, do not expect a settings slider to save you.

Storage and SSD

UE5 streaming hates 5400 RPM drives. The listing does not force an SSD, but hitching during EVA is how people die in comedy games. Install on SSD if you own one. That is the whole tip.

When your hardware clears this page, go to getting started. When it does not, wait for a sale and a driver. The Chicken can wait. Your VRAM cannot fake 6 GB if you have 4.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Can a GTX 1660 run Breathedge 2?

It is the listed minimum with 6 GB VRAM. Expect 1080p with lowered settings, not ultra wreck tourism.

How much RAM do I need?

12 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended. Do not count on 8 GB laptops.

Is Steam Deck actually Verified?

Yes. Steam prints the badge. Handheld peaks can still drop; cap FPS and use back-button binds.

Is there a Mac version?

Not in the Steam requirements. Windows only as of this writing.
